Junior High 3D Art!!!
In 1987 I was in seventh grade. I was also into comics. I picked up all sorts of nonsense. One of these nonsenses was Gumby 3-D. (I might have also picked up an early 3-D book, but this is the one I remember.)
A fire was lit. 3-D looked pretty simple, just red and blue lines. So I thought I'd give it a shot. I did 3-D drawings for about a year. My first featured a Fraggle (no idea why, as I didn't even watch or read Fraggle Rock). Everything in the middle was from Marvel comics (mostly covers). My last was an Akira rip-off. (I wasn't yet drawing my own stuff and was still just aping others.)
Still: 3-D, right?
