Monkess the Homunculus is a children's graphic novel/picture book aimed at ages 3-8, though adults seem to resonate with the story as well. Monkess celebrates friendship and adventure and the entire mystery of life. It's 48 pages but as you can see from the below video, can be read to children in about seven minutes.
This is the story of a little girl homunculus who was made over a century ago in a scientific installation on a small island in the South Pacific. Monkess is buoyant and adventurous and loves her experience of life and engages it with gusto.
Here's a great review of the book from Paul Lai's the Paul List. Lai's show is thoughtful and effervescent and I recommend it to you:
Monkess + Pop Culture: The 2015 Kickstarter Rewards
As one of the rewards for the printing of Monkess the Homunculus, I did a series of six art prints of Monkess encountering pop culture. These were limited edition and were only offered to Kickstarter backers.

The 2014 Kickstarter Artcards
As one of the stretch goals for the printing of my comic Golden Rules, I did a quick sketches of Monkess on a little note cards for backers. These were great because they helped me get a better sense of how I'd be drawing her. She evolves pretty nicely across the 83 cards.
